Robin Johnson. From the movie “Times Square”, 1980. The movie is kind of a “Turk 182″ for punk rockers. It’s not very well edited and there are big plot holes but it’s a great film for scenes of the pre-Juliana Times Square.

All American Rejects. One of the bands are helping bring back rock and roll. I’m a big rock and roll fan. It’s especially hard to be a good pop-rock band. You have to be careful…you don’t want to end up on MTV’s “Buzz-Ballad” collection. I think this song strikes a good balance. It was a little unfortunate that the band licensed the song to “Secret” anti-perspirant for a really lame add campaign. They would ask women to tell their “dirty little secrets”, which were not dirty at all. Of course the add failed. I hope the band doesn’t take it personally.

Trio. From Germany. There is something “Dada-istic” about this song. If you don’t know about the Dada art movement, listen to this song then do your Wikipedia research and listen to it again. Trio also had a big hit with “Anna”.

The Dead Kennedys. This record came with an arm band which I no longer have. Lead singer Jello Biafra wrote this song in response to the large number of skinheads coming to punk rock shows in California in the 80’s. A tight and tense 1 minute long, this song is a shining example of hardcore punk. Get up on stage, spit it out, then leave.
